It is said that if you look forward to knowing a culture, taste the food platter because that would be providing you with the most authentic knowledge of a culture. Our Full Day Cooking, Overnight Stay and Sunrise Cruise is our humble attempt to acquaint you with the immersive experiences of Kerala culture. 

We will be welcoming you with a refreshing traditional Kerala welcome drink and then we will move to the dining table for welcome lunch. Our welcome lunch showcases the flavors and spices that define our cuisine. After savoring the meal, take a moment to relax and enjoy a cup of tea before embarking on a visit to the local market. From the market we will be collecting the ingredients that we would require for cooking and then start our cooking session. 

After the cooking session, we will share our delicious dinner together over stories about the food, flavor and history of the particular dishes. After dinner, you can retire to your room for a good night’s sleep. Next morning, if you can wake up early, we can have the sunrise cruise where you can soak yourself in the hidden beauty of the Kumarakom Backwaters.

A Traditional Kerala Welcome Lunch: 

We will welcome you with a hearty Kerala traditional lunch on your arrival. You can get familiar with our kitchen, cooking ingredients, essential spices and utensils while having lunch. You can also observe how we prepare easy appetizers like chutney and pappad. 

Market Visit: 

After savoring the meal, take a moment to relax and enjoy a cup of tea before embarking on a visit to the local market. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore and discover the various ingredients that form an integral part of our daily cooking. You can choose the freshest produce, feel the aroma of the fresh spices and observe how the local markets are operating. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere and witness the way we live our lives.

Traditional Kerala Dinner Preparation: 

Once we have gathered all the necessary ingredients, we will proceed to the cooking class. Led by our skilled chef, this hands-on session will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of South Indian cooking. Over the course of 3 to 4 hours, you will learn the basics and techniques behind creating authentic Indian dishes, transforming you into an expert in a few select recipes.

After the cooking session, we will come together to enjoy a delicious dinner, where our chef will share the origins and stories behind the food we have prepared. You can engage in lively conversations and embrace the cultural richness that accompanies every dish.

Sunrise Cruise through the Kumarakom Backwaters: 

As the evening winds down, retire to your comfortable room for a restful night's sleep, preparing you for the adventures that await you the next day. Rise early in the morning to join us for a captivating sunrise cruise, the highlight of your visit. Experience the serene beauty of the surroundings as we sail along, and gain insights into our culture, diverse vegetable varieties, and the food habits of our people.
